Tribology

Tribology is concerned with the study of the phenomena of friction, wear, and lubrication. It is an interdisciplinary subject combining elements of chemistry, physics, engineering science, and even biology (e.g. biomimetic friction). We are interested in all sorts of tribological systems from nanoscale friction of an AFM tip on a polymer brush to tyre rubber grip, sliding and wear.
